About Us - Who Are We?
The Lancaster County Coalition to End Homelessness (LCCEH) was created to coordinate the efforts to eliminate homelessness and the causes of homelessness through advocacy, planning and coordinating activities, public education, and community organizing. With support and endorsement of the County of Lancaster, Lancaster City and the United Way of Lancaster County, the LCCEH strives for a coordinated approach to end homelessness among homeless service providers, private and religious organizations, activists, state and local agencies, foundations, businesses, local elected officials and other organizations while stimulating public opinion and interest, motivating community action and advancing the cause of ending homelessness.
The LCCEH is comprised of Five Bodies: The Leadership Council, The Network Service Provider, The Heading Home Plan, Action Team Leadership, The Heading Home Plan Action Teams, Continuum of Care Planning Committee
Leadership Council
The purpose of the Leadership Council is to focus on the implementation, monitoring and achievement of the Heading Home Ten Year Plan. The Leadership Council consists of a cross section of countywide leaders including the business and private sectors, government entities and human service providers.
Homeless Service Provider Network
The purpose of the Homeless Service Provider Network is to maximize the cooperation of individual service providers, in partnership with the people they serve, thereby encouraging and empowering individuals and families toward greater self-sufficiency and reintegration into the community.
Heading Home Plan Action Teams
The purpose of the Action Teams is to address each of the Objectives in the Ten Year Plan are addressed and to ensure the accomplishment of identified strategies and actions steps to meet the objectives. The seven action teams are: Heading Home, Permanent Housing, Transitional Housing, Employment, Services to the Chronically Homeless, Prevention and Public Relations
Heading Home Plan Action Team Leadership
The purpose of the Action Team Leadership Group is to coordinate the work of the various action teams to ensure that there is coordination and cooperation among the efforts of each action team and that new identified gaps and strategies are incorporated into the appropriate action teams.
Continuum of Care Planning Committee
The purpose of the Continuum of Care Planning Committee is to assist in the oversight of the County’s continuum of services for those experiencing homelessness, identify needs and gaps, the annual Continuum of Care Planning process and the annual submission to HUD for identified projects.
